an organ with an 8’ principal and an italian harpsichord, both fashioned of alaskan yellow cedar.  the organ has an italian flavor: small scaled with low cut-ups, colorful and articulate, mmm


these instruments dwell cozily together with me and pointer in my studio apartment in the mission

i was really lucky to be able to spend the summer of 2002 in amsterdam. many evenings i was alone recording in this amazing church.   matteo imbruno  is the organist here, a first-rate musician, a natural italian chef and a good friend; thanks for the opportunity; it was a thrill.      $20

the cover photo is my great grandmother fora from the netherlands.  she came to the US on a boat with a note pinned on her coat telling them what train to put her on when she arrived.  she didn’t speak any english
